How much does a cutout cost?+
1 credit, at the original resolution of the file you uploaded. A new account starts with 50 credits, so the first fifty cutouts are effectively free, and no card is required to sign up.
Is there a free version with a smaller image?+
No. There was going to be one, and we dropped it: the model's internal working resolution is the same either way, so a smaller output would have cost us the same to produce and only made the product harder to explain. Every run returns your original size.
Do I need an account?+
Yes. Runs go through the same queue and credit ledger as the generators, so they have to belong to someone — and it means your cutouts stay in My Creations instead of vanishing when you close the tab.
What if a run fails?+
The credit is refunded automatically. Failed runs are settled the same way generations are, by webhook or by the next time you load your creations.
Does it handle hair and fuzzy edges?+
That is the case we chose the model for. It estimates a soft mask rather than a hard outline, so strands of hair and semi-transparent edges keep their partial transparency. The hardest case is a subject against a busy background in a similar colour — check the result with the compare slider before you use it.
What happens to the images I upload?+
The upload goes to the model provider for processing and the finished cutout is stored on PixRoute, so it stays in My Creations and your download link keeps working.
Can I remove the background from a video?+
Not with this tool — video background removal is a separate job with real per-second cost, so it is not part of the free tier. The video tools live under the video generators.
