Key Features of AI Video Upscaler
Why creators pick PixRoute for video upscaler.
Built for video, not frame by frame
The model reconstructs detail with the neighbouring frames in view, so edges stay put from one frame to the next instead of shimmering. That temporal consistency is what separates a video upscaler from running an image upscaler 120 times.
1080p, 2K and 4K mean the short side
A landscape clip comes back 1920×1080, 2560×1440 or 3840×2160; a portrait one keeps its orientation. Nothing is cropped and no shape is forced — the result is your clip's own proportions at the new size.
Sound and frame rate come through untouched
The audio track is carried over as it is. The output runs at your clip's own frame rate — a 24fps clip stays 24fps rather than being retimed — and the price shows up front if your footage is above 30fps, which costs double to process.
The exact price, before you pay
Your clip is measured on our server as it uploads — length, size, frame rate — and the price on the button is computed from that measurement, per second of footage at the size you pick. There is no estimate that changes after the fact.
It won't sell you a size you already have
A resolution your clip already matches or exceeds is greyed out with the reason. The model can only enlarge, and a run that returned the size you started with would be a run you paid for nothing.
Tuned for the footage you have
Pick what the clip is — AI-generated, camera footage, a phone or social clip, or old film — and the model uses the matching preset. Same price either way; it changes how the model reads the picture, not how much work it does.
How the AI Video Upscaler Works
Upload your clip
Drop an MP4 or MOV up to 100MB and 60 seconds. It uploads and is measured as it lands, so the output options can show real numbers. A clip you generated here can be sent over with one click instead.
Pick the footage type and the output size
Choose what the clip is and whether you want 1080p, 2K or 4K. Each size shows the exact dimensions it will produce for your clip; the button shows the total.
Let it run, then download
Upscaling takes a few minutes. You can stay and watch or leave — the finished MP4 lands in My Creations either way, ready to download or to send into a generator as a reference.
AI Video Upscaler FAQ
How much does it cost?+
3 credits per second of footage at 1080p, 5 at 2K and 9 at 4K. A 5-second clip is 16 credits at 1080p and 46 at 4K — within the 50 credits a new account starts with. The exact number for your clip is on the button before anything runs.
Why is it priced per second and not per clip?+
Because that is how the work scales: a minute of footage is twelve times the frames of five seconds, and 4K is four times the pixels of 1080p. A flat price would overcharge short clips to subsidise long ones.
What does 4K mean for a vertical video?+
The short side. A portrait 720×1280 clip comes back 2160×3840 at 4K, 1440×2560 at 2K and 1080×1920 at 1080p. Proportions are always kept.
Will it keep the audio?+
Yes — the audio track is carried over unchanged. The output is an H.264 MP4 that plays in any browser and editor.
Does it change the frame rate?+
No. The output runs at your clip's own frame rate, whether that is 24, 25 or 30fps. Footage above 30fps is processed at its own rate too, but costs double — the tool tells you before you run it.
How long does it take?+
A few minutes for a short clip; a 5-second clip typically finishes in two to three. Longer clips take longer. You do not have to keep the page open: the result lands in My Creations when it finishes, and if a run fails your credits are refunded automatically.
Why is 1080p greyed out for my clip?+
Because your clip is already 1080p or larger on its short side. The model only enlarges, so pick 2K or 4K — or, if the clip is already 4K, there is nothing here to buy.
Will it invent detail?+
To a degree — that is what AI upscaling is. The model reconstructs plausible detail rather than copying pixels, so faces and fine text are the places to check. Very low-resolution sources (under 480p) produce more reconstruction than restoration.
What are the limits?+
MP4 or MOV, up to 100MB and 60 seconds per clip, at least one second long. Output resolutions are 1080p, 2K and 4K.
Can I upscale a clip I generated here?+
Yes — every video clip the generators make tops out at 720p, and My Creations has an Upscale button on each one that sends it here without re-uploading. At these rates a 5-second 4K upscale costs well under a tenth of the generation itself.
Generate at 720p, deliver in 4K
Every clip the generators make can come straight here — a 5-second 4K upscale costs a fraction of the generation.
