Key Features of AI Image Upscaler
Why creators pick PixRoute for image upscaler.
It rebuilds detail, it doesn't just stretch
The model behind this is a restoration model, not a resizer. It was built to reconstruct real detail from degraded input, so blur, sensor noise and JPEG blocking get cleaned up on the way out instead of being enlarged along with everything else.
2× and 4× mean exactly that
Both sides are multiplied, so a 1024×1024 image comes back 2048×2048 and a 1920×1080 one comes back 3840×2160 — real 4K. Nothing is cropped and no shape is forced: your photo keeps its proportions exactly.
The exact size and price, before you pay
Pick an enlargement and the tool shows the precise dimensions it will produce for your file and what it costs. Pricing follows the pixels you actually get, so a small image is cheap to enlarge and a large one costs more — no flat fee hiding either case.
It won't sell you a downscale
Your image is measured on our server, not in your browser, before anything is charged. An enlargement that would exceed what we can process, or that your image is too small on one side to support, is greyed out with the reason instead of failing after you have paid.
Full-size PNG, no watermark
You get the whole image at the size you chose, as a PNG, with nothing stamped on it. There is no smaller free version and no HD upsell — the size you picked is the size you get.
It hands off to the generators
One click sends the upscaled file into image-to-image to keep editing, or into image-to-video to animate it — already loaded, at its new resolution. Every run also lands in My Creations.
How the AI Image Upscaler Works
Upload your image
Click the drop zone or drag a JPEG, PNG or WebP up to 10MB onto it. The file is measured as soon as it lands so the enlargements can show real numbers.
Pick 2× or 4×
Each option shows the exact dimensions it will produce and what it costs. An option your image can't support is disabled with the reason.
Compare, then download
Drag the slider across the result to check the detail against the original, download the PNG, or send it straight into a generator to keep working.
AI Image Upscaler FAQ
How much does upscaling cost?+
It depends on how many pixels you end up with, starting at 1 credit. A 1024×1024 image is 2 credits at 2× and 6 at 4×; a 1920×1080 one is 3 credits at 2×. The exact number is on the button before you run anything, and a new account starts with 50 credits, no card required.
Why isn't the price the same for every image?+
Because the work isn't the same. Upscaling is billed by the pixels produced, and 4× on a large photo is many times the work of 2× on a small one. Charging one flat price would mean overcharging small images to subsidise large ones.
How big can it go?+
Up to about 50 megapixels in one run. That covers 4× on most web images and 2× on a full-resolution phone photo — a 12MP phone shot at 2× comes back near 6048×8064. Anything past that is disabled rather than attempted.
Can I get a 4K image out of this?+
Yes — a 1920×1080 photo at 2× is exactly 3840×2160, which is 4K. Because both sides are multiplied, the result keeps your original shape rather than being forced into a 16:9 frame.
Why is 4× greyed out for my photo?+
Either the result would pass the ~50 megapixel ceiling, or one side of your image is under 256 pixels, which the model requires once the output goes past about 2 megapixels. The option tells you which.
Will it invent detail that wasn't there?+
To a degree, yes — that is what AI upscaling is. The model reconstructs plausible detail rather than copying pixels, so faces and fine text are the places to check before you use the result. Drag the compare slider over those areas first.
Is there a watermark, or a smaller free version?+
No to both. You get the full image at the size you selected, as a PNG. We charge for the run instead of holding your resolution hostage.
Do I need an account?+
Yes. Runs go through the same queue and credit ledger as the generators, so they have to belong to someone — and it means your upscales stay in My Creations instead of vanishing when you close the tab.
What if a run fails?+
The credits are refunded automatically. Failed runs settle the same way generations do, by webhook or the next time you load your creations.
Can I upscale a video?+
Not with this tool yet — video upscaling bills per second of footage and is a separate job. This one handles still images only.
